Beginning in 2016, SM Hawaii was tasked with leading the Care For Our Kupuna campaign. In addition to advocacy and lobbying work, we were responsible for the production and placement of television advertising, as well as the creation of paid social media campaigns, print materials, public events, and public relations outreach.

Partnering with various organizations, SM Hawaii launched the Kupuna Caregivers rally in 2017 and held it annually in 2018-2019, resulting in various print, digital and broadcast news media coverage.

Our work with the campaign resulted in the adoption of the Kupuna Caregivers Act in 2017 and additional funding for the program in 2018 & 2019. Our work has appeared publications and broadcast media locally (Civil Beat, Star-Advertiser, Hawaii News Now), as well as nationally (New York Times, MSNBC), and internationally.
